BHAKTAPUR: A man, who was critically injured in Tuesday’s bus accident at Pikhel in Changunarayan of Bhaktapur, breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Madhyapur Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Purna Bahadur Bhandel (60).A total of 23 persons including Bhandel were injured when a bus (Ba 2 Kha 6817) heading towards Chagunarayan from Ratnapark skidded of the road and fell some 150 meters down at around 17:00 pm yesterday.
The injured have been identified as Srijan KC (15) Sajan Pariyar (14), Ripesh Maharjan (15), Leelamani Bhandel (30), Rukmani Bhandel (36), Bhawana Pariyar (28), Bikki Tamang (8), Suman Bhandel (11), Nanumaya Bhandel (37), Ujjwal Bhandel (11) and Sabita Tamang (20) of the Changunarayan area.
Nawaraj Shrestha (26), Bhuwan Raj Shrestha (36) and Kritika Tamang (24) of Changunaryan, Manju Basnet (40) of Nala, Kavre-3, Bishnumaya Shrestha (60) of Sarlahi, bus driver Binod Prajapati (24) of Chyamasingh, Bhaktapur Municipality-1, conductor Suraj Bhattarai (19) of Jhapa-1, Rahul Bhattarai (19) and Pradeep Bhattarai (25) of Dolakha, Prakash Karki (20) and Rajan Bhandel (14) of Panauti, Kavre were also injured in the accident.
Of them, 20 are receiving treatment at the Madhyapur Hospital, one at the B and B Hospital and another at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
